Mint- Coriander Chutney/ Mint- Coriander Thovaiyal
Coriander-Mint Chutney is a very tasty recipe which can be served with rice or south Indian recipes like Dosa or Idli. South Indian style of making Coriander-Mint chutney includes thoor dhal, urdu dhal, Tamarind, garlic for flavour, these all gives u a great taste that blend together. This Chutney can be Stored in an airtight container  in refrigerator for 10 days that does not lose it freshness… 

This Week end i got a Fresh bunch of Coriander… i didn’t waste anything in tat bunch except the root…. I separate the stem and leaves and cleaned properly.. I preserved  the stem for making Rasam (Click here for Recipe………). And the leaves for this delicious chutney… The fresh mint leaves from my garden… Good combo with Dosa, Idli… Can be served with Hot rice with some gingelly oil, this helps in busy days.. 


Coriander leaves- 1 cup
Mint leaves- 1 cup
Urdu Dhal- 3 tsp
Toor dhal- 3 tsp
Red chillie- 8-10nos
Tamarind- 1 inch
Garlic-10-12 pods
Jeera- 1 tsp
Grated coconut- 1/2 cup

Grab your ingredients
Separately  fry the ingredients…. first fry the red chillie and garlic

Fry the grated coconut and salt together
Add the jeera, fry till the raw smell leaves in coconut

fry the Toor dhal

Fry the Urdu dhal

Fry the cleaned coriander leaves and mint leaves

See they shrink 

Let them cool… grind in the mixer by sprinkling some water

Done  Done

Store in air tight container….
