Arbi fry- Sindhi Recipe

Arbi fry is an simple drooling fry… here this week i took part in sindhi recipes in BM#28, and today it’s day 2, we call this as seppankizhangu, it’s seppankizhangu roast….
Arbi is very popular in sindhis, it is relished in many ways. It’s a crispy delicious side dish for dhal rice…
Recipe Source-Sindhi Rasio
Preparation time- 10 mins
Cooking Time- 15 mins
Serves- 3
Ingredients:
Arbi- 250 gms
Salt
Oil
Chille powder- 1/2 tsp
Coriander powder- 1 tsp
Turmeric powder- 1/4 tsp
Graham masala- 1/4 tsp
Boil the arbi for 2 whistles in pressure cooker
Peel them off, in orginal version they press this pelled arbi in hands, but here i sliced it
Marinate it with chille powder, coriander powder, turmeric powder and graham masala
Deep fry them in oil

this vegetable is very popular in Suriname where my mom's paternal family is from. There we call it tayer and there is a very popular casserole dish called Pom where stewed chicken is baked inside grated tayer exterior.
This is the first time I have seen it used in Indian cooking.

This vegetable is quite common in Singapore but never brought it. I need to try this soon. The fry looks nice!

Love arbi fry..I guess garam masala makes the diff here..
make a very similar one… but do not use garam masala… i guess that will add lot of flavor and aroma to this one!!!
