Radish Thooran, Radish is a edible root vegetable, it has lot of health benefits… salads with Radish are very tasty and more healthier.. it is pungent and sweet in taste.. 

Though Joe is not a fan of Radish.. this can be prepared in Sambar, Subji’s, Salad’s.. Sometime the radish smell will irritate…Coz of the smell it may avoid in our daily menu, but its a must added vegetable to our Diet.. its a full pack of healthy veg.. this is a Simple Thooran Preparation… stir fried Radish cooked in Coconut masala.. yummy with sambar or any kind of south Indian Curry which goes well with steamed Rice…Lets Go with the Recipe..

Step by  Step Picture Instruction:

* Clean wash, peel the radish and chop them into small small pieces and set aside, chop onion too, heat the pan with oil, temper with Mustard, Channa dhal, urad dhal..

* In the mean time Grind the Masala, Coarsely grind Grated Coconut, Pearl onion, Green chillie, Curry Leaves and Jeera..

* Saute the Onions, Curry leaves and add the radish to the pan.. Cover it with a lid for  5mins in medium flame..

* Almost the Radish halfly cooked.. now add in the salt, turmeric powder and grinder masala..

* Mix them well and again cover it and cook for 5mins in medium flame, stir fry the radish in medium flame..

All done..

Radish Thooran/Radish Fry
Ingredients:
Radish- 250 gms
Onion- 1 medium
Curry Leaves- 1 spring
Salt- as per taste
To Temper:
Oil- 2-3 tsp
Musatard- 1/2 tsp
Urad dhal- 1 tsp
Channa dhal- 1 tsp
To Grind:
Coconut- 1/4 cup
Pearl Onion- 5-6
Green chillie- 2- 3
Jeera- 1 tsp
Curry Leaves-1 spring
Method:
* Wash, Clean, peel and finely chop the radish and seaside, chop onion too..
* Coarsely grind the ingredients {Coconut, Pearl Onion, Green chillie, Jeera, Curry Leaves}
* Heat the pan with oil, temper with Mustard, Urad dhal and channa dhal
* Saute the Onion and curry leaves..
* Add in the Chopped Radish to the pan.. cover them and cook it for 5 mins in medium flame.
* Add in the Grinded masala, salt and turmeric powder to the Pan..
* Mix them well again cover and cook it for 5 mins in medium flame, stir in-between.. Stir fry the Thooran..
Notes:
* Don’t use water to cook the radish, it may change the taste…
* Adjust the green chillie to your taste..
