Onion Utthappam

Lot of variation in this utthappam, onion is my favourite, half cooked/roasted onions with the flavour taste good than any thing, i was in a delay to post this recipe, this is not in our daily scheduled diet, as it took more oil than dosa, i avoid to make this in home, morning though having such a oily breakfast will make me frustrated, but once in a while for a variation of breakfast can go with this, here you go with the recipe, don’t forget to subscribe the page and don’t miss the single post, which means a lot and helps a lot for your need.. drop your comments in the comment box or write me on sujithaeasycooking@gmail.com

How to make batter?Click here to make Idli/Dosa Batter
To make Idli/Dosa Batter, Soak 4 cups of Idli Rice and Urad dhal for 2-3 hours, grind them separately and mix both Add in the Salt and mix well keep this to ferment for 8- 10 hours.. once the batter raised well all done, usually mom told this, first day with the fresh batter prepare idli, second day the batter will be much more sore and suits for dosa, And the third day goes for Utthappam.. Here i used the first day batter itself..
1. Chop the onion thinly and set aside, Heat a tawa drop a big ladle of batter and make thick base of Dosa..

2. Sprinkle the onions evenly over the thick dosa, Drizzle some oil over the Dosa, Flip to the other side and cook both the side.. Serve hot with Chutney, Sambar..

3. Here comes the spicy version, those who like spicy utthappam will try this one, Sprinkle some idli jodi over the dosa, Flip and cook both sides.. Serve hot..

Notes
-
- Variation can done by altering vegetables like carrots, Tomato, Capsicum, Curry Leaves, Green chillies
- Make a small circle with thick base, if the diameter goes big there is some difficult to flip the uttapam..
