After trying this recipe i don’t want to go back with Poriyal, fabulous taste, which rolls in your mouth for a very long time, no one will taste this leaves better than in this way.. if you are a big fan of these levels, then you won’t go back to do poriyal or curry with this leaves, you will start craving for the same preparation.. such and elegant taste i crossed in this dish, Not to tempt you, that’s the truth you will agree after tasting this preparation.. okay here you go with this simple yet great dish.. Ingredients
Drumstick Leaves | 2 cups |
Oil | 2 tsp |
Onion | 1/2 chopped |
Mustad | 1/2 tsp |
Urad dhal | 1/2 tsp |
Channa Dhal | 1 tsp |
Tomato | 1 small |
Sambar Powder | 1 tsp |
Turmeric Powder | 1/4 tsp |
Hing | a pinch |
Salt | as needed |
Garlic | 2-3 pods |
Method
1. Heat a pan with oil, Temper with Mustard, Urad dhal, channa dhal, Jeera, Wait until they pop up..
2. Saute the chopped onion and garlic for few min.. or till they cook..
3. Take the two cups of washed and cleaned drained Drumstick leaves, fry them in medium flame, cover and cook this..
4. Season with salt, Sambar powder, Turmeric Powder, Hing, saute them well,(Dont thing i used too much of salt here, my camera lens view is like that, zoomed very close to salt)
5. Once all they done, And the Drumstick leaves cooked well, now add the chopped tomatoes..Cover and cook this for few mins..
6. Cook them till the Tomatoes get mushed well..

- Adding crushed garlic instead of chopped garlic will enhance more flavour
- you don’t have sambar masala, then you can use some chilli powder and Coriander Powder to the taste..
- Adding tomatoes in the last stage is the key secret for the taste…
