Chow chow Poriyal, Nothing can beat a simple comfort meal for regular lunch or for a meal, For sambar Or South Indian Pulli Curry This Thooran Suits well.. Thooran is South India Staple Vegetable fry with a thick Coconut Masala..
This is not my most favourite veggie, i don’t like this because of its watery taste.. but don’t know why Joe Like it a lot.. Always he tell when ever he go to market i initiate him to get fresh vegetables, And when he back he will give a note, i found chow chow in fresh vegetable list, so i bought it.. This vegetable can be Prepared in Sambar, Kootu, Hope this post helps you.. This is my “Day12 of B365″

Ingredients
Chow Chow | 200gm |
Onion | 1 nos |
Oil | 2 tsp |
Mustard | 1/2 tsp |
Channa Dhal | 1/2 tsp |
Curry Leaves | 1 spring |
Turmeric Powder | a pinch |
Salt | as needed |
Ingredients To Grind
Coconut | 1/4 cup |
Green Chillie | 2 nos |
Pearl Onion | 4-5 nos |
Jeera | 1 tsp |
Curry Leaves | 1 spring |
Method
Peel the Chow chow, Slit them and chop into small pieces..
Take all the ingredients to grind and grind them in mixer without adding any water..
Heat a pan with oil, Temper with mustard, Urad dhal and channa dhal, wait until they pop up
Add a spring of curry leaves and fry them along with onion..
Once the onion turns pink in color, add the chopped chow chow..
Add a pinch of Turmeric powder
And add the Grounded masala.. Cover and cook this for few mins add salt and cook them till they done.. no need to add water, allow to cook in medium flame..
