Sweet Puttu, Healthy breakfast is a good start of the day.. This sweet puttu is very new to me, first time i heard the recipe from my SIL, When she told about this recipe i was like very tend to try it on the next day itself..
This breakfast is really great go, if you are a sweet tooth person, and love to start a day with good rich sweet recipe then this is the one.. Puttu one of the regular dish which we make for dinner as well s for breakfast.. this time i loved this version… Puttu payaru papada’s are the great combo for puttu.. some like to have with Banana and sugar.. for this version, no need of any side dish to touch.. Here is the Recipe.. And This is my “Day16 of B365″

Prep Time: 20 mins | Cook time: 10 mins | Serves: 3-4
|Raw Rice Flour/Puttu Mavu
||3/4 cup grated
||3/4 – 1 cup
Soak the Green gram for 10 mins, Pressure cook in high flame for 2-3 whistles.. after 10-15 mins release the pressure an open the pan. green gram should not over cooked..
Strain the water and separate the green gram, make them dry..
Here is the cooked green gram..
Grate the Jaggery and keep aside..
Crush 2 pods of cardamon and Add to the jaggery..
Take the Puttu maauv in a mixing bowl, sprinkle some water with salt and mix them well.. prepare the puttu mauv little dry and add the grated jaggery to it..
Here i showed the Puttu maavu consistency..
Heat a pan with Ghee, Fry the Coconut to golden brown..
Add the Fried coconut to the mixing bowl..
Now the Cooked Green gram..
Mix gently without make the dough hard.. separate the clumps
Now take the puttu steamer.. Fill a teaspoon of coconut and Fill few spoons of puttu mix, then layer with grated coconut and again the puttu mix.. layer them till the end..
My steamer got filled..
And put them in steam for 10 mins..
- Make a dry mix of rice flour..
- If you use Raw rice flour,Roast them for a while and do the same method..
- Dont over cook the green gram..
- Use Good quality Jaggery, as here i didn’t take jaggery syrup and didn’t filter it.
- Adjust the taste by adding or reducing coconut and jaggery.
