Chicken Curry


 Chicken Curry, the day i prepared Egg biryani i prepared this delicious curry.. simple yet comfort south indian Chicken curry pairs well with Roti, pulao, Biryani and why not to the hot steamed rice and Idli Dosa..

Love the flavours and taste blended with the Coconut milk and spices.. the time you marinate leaves chicken to takes the masala, Over night marination results you a good taste.. Over night marination  means for put all the marinated ingredients and mix them refrigerate it for 8- 10 hours.. i had a good support for the continues blogging days.. well this is my “Day 15 of B365” more 350 days to go..

Chicken Curry

Ingredients

Chicken 250 gms
Gingelly Oil 3-4 tsp
Jeera 1 tsp
Pearl Onion 1/2 cup chopped
Curry Leaves 2-3 springs
Ginger Garlic Paste 2 tsp
Tomatoes 2-3 nos
Cocnut Milk 1 cup
Coriander Leaves a handful

 

Ingredients To Marinate

Chillie Powder 1 tsp
Coriander Powder 1 tsp
Pepper Powder 3/4 tsp
Ginger Garlic Paste 1 tsp
Turmeric Powder 1/2 tsp
Garam Masala 1 tsp
Salt as needed
Lime Juice 2 tsp

 

Method

Take the chicken in a mixing Bow, Wash and clean them, squeeze the extra water and add chilli powder, Coriander Powder, Turmeric powder, Ginger Garlic paste, Pepper Powder, Lime juice and Salt together and mix well keep aside for 30 mins for marination.. 
 
After 30 mins, Heat a pan with oil, Temper with Jeera and wait until they pop up.. 
 
 
Add the Chopped onions and saute for a while.. 
 
 
When the onion turns pink in color, Add ginger garlic Paste and curry leaves to the Pan and saute them again.. 
 
 
Add the chopped tomatoes and cook till the tomatoes get mushed well.. 
 
 
Add the marinated chicken and mix well.. cover and cook this for few mins in medium flame.. 
 
 
Add in the Coconut milk, once the chicken get half cooked and cook the chicken in medium flame 
 
 
Check for the salt and masala in this stage and add if need, once the gravy get semi consistency  add in the coriander leaves and Off the flame.. 
 

Notes

    • Marinting chicken is  very important.. 
    • Adding coconut milk gives a rich taste to the curry.. 
    • Can add tomato puree instead of adding chopped tomatoes..
