Pav Bun

Pav Bun, This recipe goes with list of basic of baking.. This fluffy pav bun stole my heart to try often a batch here.. Love the softness and pretty looking Golden color on top.. 
Earlier i was not a fond of baking buns in home.. after trying this recipe, now i feel very bad, why i missed these lovely buns to try in home.. though i had a Oven in hand..

My SIL start the topic, i love pav Bhaji.. How about you.. That knocked my mind.. yes of course i too love Pav bhaji.. Then with a strong mindset we both found a recipe in youtube and the result of pav buns was really awe.. makes to jump up and down after seeing the Airy buns.. So here i tell, you can see these kind of bread baking recipes In the coming days.. Hope this post helps,  to know about the Pav bun making.. Such a Easy one you can try in Microwave if you have convention in it.. This is my “ Day 19 of B365″


Pav Bun

Recipe Cuisine: Indian  |  Recipe Category: Street Food/Basic of baking
Prep Time: 4-5 hrs   |  Cook time: 20 mins    |  Temperature: 200C


Maida/APF 2 cups
Butter 3tsp
Milk 1/4 cup
Oil 3tsp
Instant Yeast 1.5 tsp
Sugar 2 tsp
Salt 1/2 tsp
Egg 1nos

Take a bowl of warm water..

Add a Teaspoon of sugar to make the Yeast Active..
This is how dry Yeast looks.. 
Drop the yeast to the bowl of warm water.. 
Mix them well with a Spoon.. After 10 to 15r minutes, the mixture should have bubbled up and become creamy looking. that means the yeast is alive. if it does;t do anything, get yourself some new yeast..

Take a bowl of flour, make a deep well in the centre.. drop the proofed yeast to the flour.. and add 1/4 cup of milk, Salt, sugar and start knead the dough.. 
Once done add Melted butter, and knead again.. the dough should be sticky elastic.. 
Keep them aside for 10 mins.. 
Now again knead the dough vigour-sly until it becomes to soft in texture.. the sticky dough will be soft and non sticky 
Now set the bowl of bough by brushing with some oil drops.. 
Cover with a kitchen towel or with a lid.. Keep them in a warm place for 3-4 hours.. i put this bowl in the unplugged microwave.. 
After 3-4 hours the Dough will raised and see how my proofed dough looks.. 
Again knead the dough.. see the elasticity of the dough.. 
Grease a baking pan with some oil.. 
Take a lemon sized ball.. 
Line in the baking pan.. 
Here is my lined balls.. 
Cover with a lid or kitchen towel and wait until they raise.. In the below pic you can see the raised balls.. 
Crack open the Egg in a bowl..
Remove the yellow yoke and bat the white yoke.. 
Brush the top with the Beaten egg.. 
Put the Baking pan in a preheated oven.. (Preheat the Oven to 200C for 10 mins)
Bake the buns for 10 mins in 200C.. Take them out, again brush with some oil..Set the bake mode to grill mode.. so Both the rods in the Oven with start to work.. 
You can get a golden brown crust on the top.. 
Take them out, drop a drop of butter over the hot buns.. 
Brush them well, this is to make the buns soft in texture.. 
  • Water should be in warm.. 
  • If the yeast is not proofed, then try with a new packet of yeast.. check the manufacturing dative the yeast before buying..
  • Use a big bowl to prove the dough..
