 Chicken Tikka, a Spicy starter to a meal or dinner.. This indian version of Chicken tikka is really a Hot one.. This is one the popular Starter or Appetizer from Indian cuisine and popular across the world..

Tikka meant for a piece or for a cube, Chicken Pieces marinated in Curd and lime juice to tenderise the texture and again spiced up with masala, for marination.. These marination tooks few hours to do, then in a oven/tandoor/Barbecued cook the marinates chicken and serve.. here i focus for color and i used kashmiri red chillies, you can reduce the spice level, my tikka’s are spicy and really hot in taste..

Last week my brother came to visit my place, he loves the flavours and texture of the chicken tikka.. This is specially for my brother.. he is like searching very fond of good spicy dishes.. This is my “Day18 of B365″

Chicken Tikka

Prep Time: 2-3 hours |  Cook time: 15 mins    |  Serves: 2 I Temperature: 200C


Boneless Chicken 200 gms
Curd 1/2 cup
Lime 1 tsp
Salt as needed



Chilie powder 1 tsp
Coriander Powder 3/4 tsp
Garam masala 3/4 tsp
Turmeric Powder 1/4 tsp
Ginger Garlic Paste 1/2 tsp
Red Food Color a pinch




Take The boneless piece of chicken and cube them into desired size.. Wash and Clean well, squeeze out the water and take them in a mixing bowl..

Add curd, Salt and Salt

Mix them well and keep aside for 3 mins for pre marination, this step helps to soften the chicken..

Discard the Extra curd and Add chillie powder,Coriander Powder, Garam masala, Turmeric powder, Ginger Garlic paste, and Red food color

 Mix hem and marinate for 2-3 hours.. over night marination will result in good taste..

Preheat the Oven to 200 C for 10 mins.. In the mean time Spread a foil paper on the baking tray.. Separate the chicken pieces one by one in the tray.. Drizzle some oil over the chicken..

 Put the Tray in the Preheated oven and cook for 10 mins..

Here is the Tray of chicken after 10 mins of cooking..

Flip the chicken pieces to the other side.. Again cook them for 10 mins in 200C..

Here the Prepared Tikka.. Serve hot with Lemon and Onion.. Can be served with Mint chutney or Curd chutney..

    • Here i used the Food color, so it looks pretty dark red in color.. 
    • Adjust the spices depend to the taste.. 
    • Can add some Capsicum chunks and onion pieces too..
