 Egg Drop Curry, Simple comfort curry, which can done with in few mins to complete the meal.. my sis in law had so many recipes like these kind of variety.. i was amazed to try this curry, Heard from my mom, she used to do these kind of curry which consumes very less time, since she was a working women. 

Recently Im Improving my cooking knowledge with these kind of easy jiffy recipes which save more time when running out of time. What ever the side dish will be no matter they suits best with this curry, the best pair to relish this curry are potato fryFish fry and any kind of poriyal. mom prepare this without Eggs and she used to call the curry as verum curry/Kulambu, or coconut curry. a coconut based paste cook with mild spices to full fill a complete meal, This is some what a variation in Verum curry/Kulambu, It meant for Curry cooked without vegetables, only on Coconut based gravy, to relish the Steamed rice. Common in Nagercoil, Kanyakumari Dist., South Tamilnadu. And this is my “Day 30 of B365″

Egg 3-4
Oil 2 tsp
Mustard 1/2 tsp
Urad dhal 1/2 tsp
Onion 1/4 cup
Red Chilly 2 nos
Curry Leaves 2 spring


Ingredients to grind

Coconut 1/2 cup
Red Chilly Powder 1 tsp
Jeera 1 tsp
Garlic 2 pods
Pearl Onion 2-3 nos
Turmeric Powder 1/4 tsp
Curry Leaves 1 spring
Tamarind 1 inch




Ingredients to Grind.. Grind in a mixer and set them aside..

Heat a pan with oil, temper with mustard, fry the onion and wait until they turns pink in color..

Add in the Curry Leaves and Red chilly fry them for few mins..

Cook till they cook nicely..

Add in the grounded paste with some water, bring this boil add salt, and give a good mix..

Once the curry starts to boil, put the flame to low, Crack open the Eggs one by one and Drop them slowly into the curry..

Cover them with a lid and let it sit and cook for 4-5 mins.

  • You can add a beaten to the curry for a taste variation..
  • Don’t allow the curry to roll and boil, the coconut masala and water will split if they boiled much.
