How to Cabbage Vada/Cabbage Fritters

Cabbage Vada/Cabbage Fritters, Are you bored with regular Cabbage curry, then this fritter will be a change for your taste. Such an instant snack to make, Mostly kids avoid cabbage in their list, but this vada makes to crave more.
I should tell this,  When I was in my school days, me and my friend wants to try some new recipe, at that time I had a Tamil cook book with this recipe, and we both made this vada at my home(Mom’s Kitchen), Also I remember that we served this vada with Curd Chutney which was a very new taste for us.  Here Joe got bored with our regular cabbage fry, and we are back after our vacation by  two days back, only cabbage is there to cook, Instead of preparing the same cabbage recipe tried this vada for a change. The menu was white rice with  puli kulambu and cabbage vada for our lunch. Also this vada will be a  super hit pair with a cup of hot Chai.

Cabbage 1 cup
Onion 1/4 cup
Green Chille 1 nos
Hing 1/4 tsp
Beasan Flour 3/4 cup
Chillie Powder 1/2 tsp
Turmeric Powder 1/4 tsp
Salt to taste
Oil 1/2 cup



Chop the Cabbage, wash and drain the chopped cabbage and set aside.

Add in chopped onion and green chilli

Add in the Besan flour..

 Add in Red chilli powder, Turmeric powder, Hing and Salt

 Sprinkle few teaspoons of water and mix all together..

 Heat a pan with oil, Shape them into vada and drop the Vada’s to the hot oil..

Flip and cook all the sides of the vada..

Drain and drop in a kitchen towel.

Serve this with Curd chutney or with coconut chutney, with a hot cup of Chai..
